Q: Is there a way to use the usb2 connection and mount usb-storage?
A: No, but the internal USB-Port (1.1) is working

Q: Can I mount a drive via this internal 1.1 USB-Port?
A: Yes, if you get a new kernel it will work, a new kernel will be available with the next tinky version

Q: I want to use two internal IDE-HDD. Possible? What about power supply?
A: Two seperate disks or raid1 will be possible with the next tinky release, not sure about the power but since there is no space for two disks I would recommend to get an external 3,5" USB-HD box with its own powersupply and only connect the IDE cable from the NAS to the USB box. There are also power supplies available that can be connected to the disk's power supply connector directly.

Q: Can I use external 2,5" USB drives? They suck 0,5 A out of the USB. Is that too much?
A: It's USB 1.1. So it's rather slow because it has a maximum transfer rate of 12 Mb/s. USB 2.0 would support 480 Mb/s! From a fully specified high power USB port you can draw 0,5A maximum. If you overload it, it may enter some overcurrent mode and the port may be disabled.

Q: Tell me more about the max power of the NAS. Is there a difference between the NAS-1000 and 2000?
A: I don't think that the NAS-2000 and the 1000 come with different powersupplies great question for the mailinglist ;-)
My NAS-2000 got a 34 W powersupply.
